Salma Hayek felt ashamed

Salma Hayek felt ashamed

Actress Salma Hayek Pinault took her time before went public about her Harvey Weinstein story.

Now, in a conversation with Oprah Winfrey at the Apollo Theater on Wednesday night, Hayek talked about more about Weinstein's allegedly violent behaviour towards her.

Hayek Pinault was speaking to Oprah Winfrey at a recording of Oprah's SuperSoul Conversations at the Apollo theater in NY on Wednesday, and outlined her run-ins with Weinstein and their aftermath.

'But I felt like my pain was so small compared to all the other stories'. When her piece was published, Hayek's close friend Penelope Cruz was "furious at me because I never told her anything". A spokesperson for Weinstein denied her allegations, saying in a statement at the time: "All of the sexual allegations as portrayed by Salma are not accurate and others who witnessed the events have a different account of what transpired".

"I ended up not doing it", she said. And then I felt ashamed that I was a coward. "I've been working and supporting women for two decades. and then I was a coward".

'In his eyes, I was not an artist, ' Hayek wrote.

Weinstein propositioned Hayek multiple times throughout her time on the film, asking for massages, oral sex and naked showers.

The new information follows a bombshell account Hayek shared with the New York Times in December where she outlined how notoriously bad the disgraced film producer treated her during the creation of her beloved project, "Frida", after she refused his advances. When, say, Bill Cosby was accused of rape, the people around him all commented on how out of character it sounded for Cosby, because he was such a nice guy. She told Oprah that during the five-year making and releasing of Frida, "He told me he wanted to kill me". "He said to [Frida director] Julie Taymor, 'I am going to break the kneecaps of that 'c-word'". I don't want us to go from victims to angry.

Hayek stands by her story and shared advice for women who have been in similar situations.

Hayek needn't have felt this way: Uma Thurman, for one, waited until this month to tell her story, because she couldn't until now eloquently express her anger. "You're reacting the way I have seen molested children act because they think they're the only ones this has happened to".

She added: 'It's important to take responsibility for the things we do to others, but we must stop apologizing for being attacked and we must move into a place where you can actually have a conversation. "You have to be attractive but you cannot be too attractive because then you are telling me that I can do whatever I want with you.' What the f*ck is with you?"

The Harvey Weinstein scandal definitely had far-reaching effects when it comes to Hollywood's biggest A-listers.
