Mason Mount says England debut alongside Declan Rice was an ‘unbelievable feeling’

Mason Mount says he fulfilled a dream by making his England debut in the 4-0 win over Bulgaria.
The Chelsea midfielder substituted Jordan Henderson in the 67th minute on Saturday at Wembley, helping Gareth Southgate’s facet to their third victory in Euro 2020.
The 20-year-old, that had been team-mates with Rice states it was a special feeling making his entire debut next to his friend that is long-term in midfield.
“We’ve obviously known each other for a very, very long time and always speaking about perhaps that chance of playing each other again,” Mount said.
“It’s obviously happened today, and so I went over to him straight away and only said’well done, we’re back on the pitch together’, so, yeah, looking forward into the future now.
“It’s an unbelievable feeling to turn your debut for your nation, it is something that you dream of as a little kid.”
Mount, who lined up for Derby in May at the Sky Bet Championship play-off final, has two objectives in four Premier League games for Chelsea.
The academy product acknowledges he has had an eventful season, which makes his debut at global level and in the top flight, the Championship over the space of 14 months.
“it is a hugely proud moment for me and my loved ones,” he further added.
“When you come on, you only wish to have on the ballhave your very first touch, get out that the way and then try to influence this game.
“Making my debut on Chelsea, also now being called up to the England squad and also making my debut today. It has been a blur those last few months”
Mount is aiming to be in contention for England’s second Qualifier from Kosovo at St Mary on Tuesday evening.
