Keenum, McCoy or Haskins? Odds on Which QB Will Start Week 1 for the Redskins

Despite being projected to be one of the worst teams in the NFL in 2019, the Washington Redskins have any major decisions to make when it has to do with the quarterback position. With Week 2 of the NFL preseason upon usoddsmakers have introduced props where guy will earn the starting quarterback position when the regular season arrives.
BetOnline is dealing Case Keenum as the +100 preferred to be the beginning in Week 1, together using Colt McCoy (+200) and Dwayne Haskins (+250) as the underdogs. Now the’Skins regular-season OVER/UNDER win total has been set at 6.5 in the shop.
Washington head coach Jay Gruden has a huge choice on his hands. Gruden, who is Recorded As The Fave to be the first coach fired this year, has not made any announcements as to which person will find the starting job, but visiting Keenum because the likeliest player to do so is reasonable.
According to The Washington Post, Keenum is”probably the Redskins’ starting quarterback for the time being.” Keenum was traded to the Redskins from Denver in the offseason following an abysmal campaign together with the Broncos in which he threw for 18 touchdowns and 3,890 yards along with 15 interceptions. He looks like the one, although keenum won’t be considered the most attractive alternative under centre for Redskins fans.
McCoy was handed the reins of the beginning job last year after Alex Smith suffered a barbarous season-ending leg injury, yet the Texas product suffered a season-ending accident of his own only a couple weeks following Smith’s.
The 32-year-old continues to be with the Redskins since 2014 and knows the offense better than the other signal-callers on the roster, so don’t be surprised it Gruden opts to go with McCoy from the gate.
It is likely going to be a very long season in D.C., which means Haskins probably won’t be hurried into action. The Redskins seemed to find a sneak by choosing Haskins with the No. 15 pick at the 2019 NFL Draft, but the former Ohio State standout fought in his first preseason action. Haskins completed 8 of 14 passes for 117 yards in his debut from Cleveland but was intercepted twice.
Haskins is known for his powerful hands and poise under pressure, and he’s already viewed as the quarterback of the future for the club. But together with Keenum and McCoy from the fold, this makes more sense of Haskins to see from the sidelines for the first couple weeks of the season. The Redskins may easily be out of contention.
With tough games against the Eagles, Cowboys, Bears and Patriots in four from the first five weeks, Haskins is much better off to the bench. If Washington is from playoff contention soon after, providing Haskins a shot later on could be the most appropriate course of action.
