All systems go for Siskin in Middle Park Stakes

Ger Lyons believes the choice after this month, to adhere at Newmarket will be the one because of his unbeaten colt.
Lyons admitted the seven-furlong Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes was something but decided to follow his guns in the view that six furlongs is the distance for Siskin’s next race.
The Middle Park gives Siskin the opportunity to take his 100 per cent record and followup his Group One success at the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes.
“It was my telephone,” that the County Meath handler told journaling TV.
“He even did a snap over seven – he’s run four times and won four occasions all over six, such as a Group One, and so for me he’s definitely the best over six in the present time.
“I said to Colin (Keane), I think that it was a week ago Saturday, we had breeze him . It was clear to me that going seven was not the right thing, although he worked well. Why go at the moment when he’s definitely the best around at six past six.
“If there wasn’t the Middle Park in just two weeks’ time I would have turned up (at the National Stakes). We were not running. There’s an option in 2 weeks’ time plus it is a Group One.
“I have to place my horse where he could win his race.
“I’m not saying he could not have won (the National Stakes). My optimum target was the Middle Park.
“I’d really like to run in the Vincent O’Brien (National Stakes). It is here on my door step, however, the optimum target is when he was breezed by us said and that the Middle Park,’correct my mind is composed’.
“I made one telephone call to say in my opinion this horse must proceed to the Middle Park. ‘Proper – perfect, superior fortune’. I presumed that was simple.
“As we talk we’re on target for the Middle Park. It’s a very long way, a fortnight is a long time to get a racehorse, but touch wood that this horse hasn’t let us down and I’m awaiting Newmarket.”
Lyons is enthusiastic about taking at Newmarket, led by the remarkable Mums Tipple on resistance.
“He’s rated greater than mine, but we have a Group One in the bag and draw it on,” he said.
